On the whole I've found PayPal very convenient however you over promise I've had several occasions where I've paid for items that have either not turned up or not been fit for purpose you state that you refund money if that is the case. I opened a case recently when purchasing an ebay for £350 approximately I cancelled this item on eBay but the seller ignored this and still sent the item out I contacted the seller several times but they still ignored my communication. Finally the seller responded and explained that their system had let this process down and they would reimburse me all my money send me a return label however when I went into eBay to get the return label it wouldn't allow this to happen due to the fact that I had an outstanding case on PayPal. So I went in and closed the case however it turned out after I returned to the item with their pre-paid label that was tracked and proved they had received the item back they refuse to refund me so I contacted PayPal again and explained what happened by putting in a new case PayPal said this was my fault because I should never have closed the case in the first place so I was out of pocket by £350 Reviewed on: 10th June 2026
