I’m absolutely over the moon with the rewards I get...

I’m absolutely over the moon with the rewards I get on my PayPal debit card . However a recent experience has left me with a less favourable opinion of customer services. I made a payment with my phone but it didn’t go through so I then made a successful payment with the physical card, what happened was, both payments were taken from my account and now the m at the mercy of the retailer, PayPal will not issue a refund and say I have to wait 30 days to see if the merchant claims both payments. £218 isn’t an insignificant amount of money to lose because of a non fault system error.
