Renewed CD without authorization

Long time customer. Had substantial CD that was rolling over to maturity right before I left on an extended vacation. I logged into the portal and made a request to close the account at maturity. That never actually happened and in my travels I received a notice that they had renewed my CD. I immediately called and Marcus would not take any responsibility for the glitch and would not reverse a substantial penalty for early withdrawal. They have lost a customer and I would not do business with this company ever again. Reviewed on: 12th June 2026
