Review of the Endsleigh, Car insurance (discontinued):

Good, but can be misleading.

I was with Endsleigh whilst at uni, and had both car and content insurance with them. The rates were really good and my experience had been good up until i graduated. I rang up to cancel my content insurance and was then put through to the car insurance department to remove my student accommodation from the insurance plan. I don't think it helped that I had an unhelpful customer service rep, but I was told my insurance was going to increase as I was no longer a student. I was already 6 months into my policy by then and was told I now needed to pay and additional £1000 on top of my original £650 policy. £1650 for some who had been driving accident free for 5 years already, was a huge amount. In fairness I was then put through to a more helpful rep, who apologised and cancelled my policy giving me a £300 refund. It was a bit of a nasty shock to be told you owe an additional £1000, especially when you've just left uni and don't have a great deal of money. Reviewed on: 6th September 2019
