Extremely poor service from Barclays for my fixed mo...

Extremely poor service from Barclays for my fixed mortgage. They provided a free solicitor but I ended up paying £583 to the solicitor for rent charge and indemnity insurance and other services. Raised twice with Barclays and spent at least 3 hours. Everytime they will promise something and don't deliver. Like on 5th June I was told by customer service that someone from underwriting team will contact me but no one did. On 15th June I was promised that they will send me letter that Barclays didn't request any insurance to solicitor. Never received such letter. Today I called and agent was laughing. Had mortgage with Santander in past and was twice remortgaged again with Santander. Never had to pay a dime extra. Reviewed on: 27th June 2026
