Innovative car Insurance

My annual renewal for car insurance came around yet again and also the frustrating time spent going to comparison web sites to find an alternative that was cheaper and offered me what I wanted. I knew that I didn't clock up loads of miles over the year and always put down about 1000 miles when asked what milage I do per annum. I probably do a lot less to be honest. I was quoted an upfront cost for when my car was parked, this seemed appropriate and reasonable to me. That's clever I thought. Then quoted .04p per mile. 1000m x .04p = £40 per year. I then looked at how this was verified and how my charges per mile could be validated by an insurance company. I knew I had to fit a little device to my OBD11 socket that would be supplied once I'd accepted and paid my upfront fee, and that a downloaded App on my phone would do all the work. It sounded just what I wanted, so I checked out the reviews. Everything I read was impressive. I went back to their web site and paid my fee. My By Miles device arrived promptly, nicely packaged and small enough to be unobtrusive when fitted to my car. This took about 15 seconds to fit and after downloading the By Miles App, it appeared on my phone in about 10 minutes. The information about my journey's are logged accurately and show me how many miles my journey was. What time I parked and even a map to validate the route. This is technology I like and it's very good. I can see if my car has developed any faults as a bonus. I can check if my car is still parked where I left it, if I'm out and about walking somewhere. I can see total mileage for each individual journey and and the accumulated milage and cost at a glance. I'm not sure how cost would be for high mileage customers, but for me, By Miles is exactly what I wanted and to be honest with everyone, it makes me a more courteous and careful driver and that is a good thing on our roads today.
