Why would i possibly need a title? And why is it a required* field?

helpful customer service guy but this is the first time i have had to prove who i am on car insurance (send copys of licence etc.) and it was a pain to get my no claims discount added to my policy.. I've had this policy less than a week and have spent more time on hold than any other company i have used in the past.. this is also the most expensive policy i have had to take in the last 6 years. summery; employees i have talked to are great!.. prices and processes suck..
