Over 6 months of stress

We weve forces to have our car towed 55miles to One Call garage or pay £550 excess and their charges even though the claim was not my fault It took 3 week for return . It was returned in a filthy state and covered in compound inside and out, even inside the headlights. But it didn’t stop their the One Call solicitors phoned daily asking for details of all banks and saving which I refused. We were told we were liable for the cost of the hire car. The car had no aircon which was unbearable in a heatwave. Being over 70 yrs old was very stressful and will never use this company again. The damage to my car had major works including the bumper replaced and resprayed for 1 little 25mm mark. The car was just over one year old. Reviewed on: 25th September 2026

Better to have no insurance the to use One Call Insurance. I had a non fault claim. What a awful experience. My car was towed 50 miles away and was kept for 20 days. The bumper was replaced unnecessarily as only minor small scruff and repainted. The front wings were sanded down and resprayed. Was returned 20 days later in a dusty filthy state. There was dust and compound everywhere inside under the headlights and the engine was covered. The day after work was completed the car was driven 23 miles and left idling between journeys. I was made to sign a. Credit agreement for courtesy car. Now the other insurance refuse to pay out for the over inflated bill. I may be Liable for all works and car hire even though my insurance was fully comp. I took the car to a c garage who quoted no more the £200 for complete work on my one year old car.
