Review of the Chip, Savings app:

Auto-savings but no returns

3
If you want an app that will automatically take some money from your main current account so that you cannot spend it, this app does that. With many bank accounts it can analyse your previous spending to decide how much it should save. Unfortunately, with more stringent know your customer requirements, it does not have this ability for all accounts, which does detract from the whole thing. The other disappointing aspect to the app is that you currently earn 0% interest on your savings so you can get a better return even on the most basic high street savings account. In the future, Chip is hoping to offer competitive returns and, if it improves its link to your bank account, it will become a much better and more useful app. Reviewed on: 4th November 2019
