Keeping the humanity in personal banking

First Direct have impeccable customer service. Always being able to speak to a (well-trained) person makes all the difference in frustration and difficult situations that can arise in personal banking. It is the only bank I’ve ever dealt with where the service is consistently brilliant, the staff remember they are dealing with (sometimes very vulnerable) people and not just money depositors, and you never have to repeatedly explain your issue or instructions anytime you are transferred between agents or departments because the team communicates exceptionally well and leave thorough and appropriate notes on your account. The banking app could do with a few more features to rival their app-only competitors but those are minor preferences in comparison to the overall banking experience.
