Review of the Startline Motor Finance, Car finance:

Not if they were the only finance provider on earth!

I would not choose Startline for car finance again even if they were the only car finance provider on earth! I bought a vehicle in April 2025 and 1 month after purchase, the car broke down as the water pulley fell apart, causing the belt to then snap. I was then told to take the car to my local garage and report this to A1 warranties, as I was provided a free 3 month warranty with them. A1 then took 2 months to get back to us, only to refuse to cover this under warranty, therefore I had to pay for the repair myself after 2 months of having no car. Then 1 week later the car broke down again, same issue. At this point I had no faith in the vehicle and requested to reject the vehicle, now over a year later, this is still not resolved even after I went to the Financial Ombudsman who sided with me, but Startline couldn't accept that and asked for it to go to final decision which took another 6 months, only for the final decision maker to make the same decision. The Ombudsman gave them 4 weeks to resolve the complaint, wind down the agreement and refund me, it is now 4 weeks and 5 days and Startline have still not done anything at all and fob me off everytime I call them. So be warned, Startline Motor Finance are so corrupt that they don't even abide the Ombudsman’s rulings! Stay away from this business! Reviewed on: 22nd July 2026
