Moneybarn loan sharks disguised as a finance company.

1
Moneybarn loan sharks disguised as a finance company. I took out a car loan with Moneybarn in 2022 while expecting a baby and needing a reliable vehicle. The interest was extremely high, but due to being in an IVA I had limited options. For the first 13 months I paid every instalment. Then my life collapsed overnight I lost my job, and my six month old daughter was rushed to hospital with daily seizures. We were awake day and night caring for her while waiting weeks for government support. My IVA provider immediately gave me a payment break. Moneybarn did the opposite. Despite me being completely honest about our situation, they offered no help, ignored FCA guidelines on vulnerable customers, pressured me to hand the car back, cancelled my agreement, sent bailiffs, and took me to court all while I was still making payments totalling over £1,500. All I asked for was a temporary payment break and a repayment plan once my situation improved. They refused everything. Moneybarn showed no compassion, no responsibility, and no compliance with regulations. They behaved exactly like loan sharks. I am now taking Moneybarn back to court for creating an unfair relationship, as recommended by the judge. Avoid this company. Choose a lender that actually follows the law.
