Review of the Bank of Scotland, Balance Transfer Credit Card:

Bank of Scotland value their customers

I recently applied for a 16 month 0% interest balance transfer credit card from the Bank of Scotland in June. I am an existing customer with the bank. My husband and I have a mortgage with them. The application process was straightforward and the credit card was. approved promptly. As a loyal customer I felt the bank treated me well & the credit card offers were excellent. I recently left my job for a new one that was misrepresented so I left quickly and ending up unemployed unexpectedly. I wanted to pay off an Argos Buy Now Pay Later card which has been a nightmare. Unfortunately Argos Card (now Argos Pay) did not allow me to do a balance transfer because it is a store card (which I didn’t realise when I bought the dining chairs I used the card for last October). So I am now stuck with high interest Argos Pay who have taken £100 interest despite me paying off £300 towards the chairs. However, I do now have an excellent 0% interest credit card from Bank of Scotland!! Reviewed on: 20th August 2026
