Vehicle rejection handled poorly

I raised a formal complaint with Blue Motor Finance in May 2026 regarding a faulty vehicle purchased via hire purchase. Whilst they ultimately upheld my rejection I am deeply disappointed with how the complaint was handled throughout. Key issues with their handling: - Allowed the dealership repeated chances to cooperate despite consistent failures at every stage - Made three separate written commitments they failed to honour - Took 70 days from formal rejection to vehicle collection - Broke their written promise to arrange recovery when the dealership missed their own deadline -Promised full refund within 7-10 working days — deposit of £1,000 still not received weeks later - Required me to escalate to the Financial Ombudsman Service to make any meaningful progress The vehicle itself was confirmed by an independent engineer as not being of satisfactory quality at point of sale with evidence of unsuccessful previous repair attempts — meaning it should never have been sold in that condition. I appreciate that Blue Motor Finance ultimately supported my rejection. However the process was unnecessarily prolonged, written commitments were repeatedly broken and the matter remains unresolved due to the outstanding deposit. My honest suggestion to anyone considering using Blue Motor Finance — if you have any alternative finance options available to you, I would strongly recommend exploring them first. My experience has shown that when things go wrong the process of resolving issues can be extremely lengthy, stressful and requires significant personal effort including escalation to the Financial Ombudsman Service to make progress.
