Review of the Aviva, Life insurance:

Terrible company due to payout wait times

My mother had a life insurance policy with Aviva for many years.. the reason my mother took out the policy was to cover her own funeral costs and other practicalities.. my mother passed unexpectedly on the 20th May 2026… it is now 16-09-2026.. 4 months I have been waiting for them to payout and still nothing. Probate has actually been approved and been obtained quicker.. I would urge potential customers not to use Aviva based on their drastically slow payout process. Very disappointing and my mother would be horrified knowing I was left to pay nearly 10k in funeral costs etc. the very reason she took this policy out was to ensure I was not affected financially.. I find this completely unacceptable. Not only am I dealing with the grief of losing my mother I am also now under severe financial pressure because of this company - STAY CLEAR PEOPLE Reviewed on: 16th September 2026
