At last... a bank that serves the community

In recent years, we have all seen how banks tend to extract value from the community (investing where the wealth already is, profiteering from increases in property values, gambling on futures rather than investing in community enterprises) and how they have contributed to financial and monetary crises around the world - whilst remaining immune to sanctions through being too big to fail. Triodos has reversed that trend and shown that a bank can successfully invest for good in small-scale, local, organic, resilient, sustainable businesses - and my money makes a small contribution to doing good in that way.
