Review of the Tandem, Credit Card:

Used to be good

Up until a few days ago this would have been a 5* review - the card had everything for it, it was almost perfect: Mastercard (so accepted virtually everywhere), good for overseas spending, a bit of cashback, Google Pay support and great customer service. The only downside was you couldn't have a secondary card holder. Over the past year I've sung the praises of this card to family and friends, and to perfect strangers too! But now according to their recent announcement its a case of pay £5.99 per month (£11.98 for a couple!) for a set of useless "benefits" or say goodbye. 0% interest is of no use to anyone who pays off their bill in full and the 1.5% savings account sounds good, until you realise you'd have to have almost £5k on deposit just to earn back the monthly fee (doubled for a couple remember....no secondary cardholders). The numbers just don't stack up, so sadly come March it'll be goodbye from me. Reviewed on: 9th January 2020
