Review of the Monese, Money Account:
View on product page

Commited, safe with a focus to providing better awareness on how to manage your money, and an amazing app that has had huge positive repurcussions to my financial routine and ultimately an area of my life that massively impacts on my health & commitments.

Not only was joining Monese easy, understandable, with the great feature of being able to manage my money and financial commitments and lifestyle through their different categories and areas that help prompt to save and organise and tailor how I approach keeping/saving/spending my money, but it is done in a safe and secure way and this has only impacted my life in a much more positive and healthy way....particularly in this current climate. It's great for people who struggle or need serious help managing money in order to be able to keep on the straight and narrow, look after themselves and not spiral into debt/problems that mean your financial energy starts having a serious, detrimental impact on you, others in your life, your commitments and your health. It really does create a much more stable and much more present support system that I have wished for in every other bank I've used since my children's Yorkshire bank account I opened when I was in Primary School. I also think the app while providing everything I've just stated above, it's so user friendly...simple and it just adds to the list of positive reasons I have voted for them as my number one bank. Although I don't want to project bad or negative comments about other very similar online banks doing exactly the same thing... I have had numerous problems with the ones I opened before Monese including issues with transfers and equally my friends experiencing the same problems, even unforgivable issues like them taking money from my account and not only it never coming back, but them not even acknowledging it or providing a service of support to help recover the significant amount of funds that were rightfully mine. It was a shambles and from research I see it's a common flaw and has happened to customers everywhere. Originally I was slightly slow to acquire a Monese account as the card delivery fee put me off but I now realise that is a small and insignificant amount and is the different between a bank that cares and supports you, and is safe and reliable and a bank that incredibly impacts your life for the worse. So many of my friends were already with Monese and whilst it was part of my decision to join and follow suit it also meant that all my friends now within the Monese family could deal with financial matters between them in a tremendously easier format with considerably less logistics to work out. No looking back, I'm really happy to be part of a banking community that wants to help improve managing your financial endeavours rather than use and take advantage of their (long term) customers and try and take everything they can from them, including their health. We have an epidemic at the moment in the UK with Male suicide ( 3 close friends commited suicide last year) and alot of cases stem from or are exasperated by money issues and the feeling of being ignored and unsupported, inducing incredible levels of depression and stress. (This was particularly the case for one of my friends and so many other people are too affected by this. The introduction and rise and success of online banks over the last few years, Monese more than any of the others has shown that not only by a person being able to personalise there management plan but also promoting and creating an awareness with their customers that they are being cared for, acknowledged and noticed. Personally I think this is Monumental within this realm/industry and is the only direction we as a country and a planet should be moving in for everyones benefit. It means the next generation is better equipped to deal with the sporadic and unplanned financial challenges we can all face at some points in our Lives. Finally a bank for everyone, with no hidden agenda.A bank that cares about you an absolute rarity in this age. Thank you. Reviewed on: 7th February 2020
