Mind numbing weight: Lifted!

I caught a virus, that over time, stopped me from doing almost anything. I used my savings, then 0% Creditcard offers, to keep my life as normal as possible. The 0% offers started to end; and I couldn’t finance my monthly outgoings! The CC interest went from 0 to 20%+ in days. Instead of healthy savings, i had an out of control debt. Suddenly, I missed my Mortgage payment by 47p! I received a message from my bank. I was numb. They gave me a number to ring. After a detailed questionnaire, they recommended I contact a Debt charity. I rang StepChange and was greeted by a person who really wanted to help resolve my issues. Every time I contact them, I am treated as a person more important than them! It is a massively humbling experience, but the relationship becomes like family. I continually receive information and advice, but it’s not intrusive. They recognise, that a general email; can be written and sent to a broad spectrum of people; where the details can be treated as specific to You or just general information. I’m now on a DMP and appreciate everything StepChange do to make my life easier! Reviewed on: 23rd April 2020
