Review of the Marmalade, Specialist car insurance:

A genuinely caring and honest insurance company

I have had my faith restored in insurance companies by using Marmalade to insure a second car for my son to use to learn to drive. Not only were they reasonably priced but were very easy and pleasant to communicate with. When the car broke down and we could not afford the repairs/tow to get it to a garage for a few months, I contacted Marmalade to explain that this meant that the months which I had booked the insurance for would then be wasted and even in a couple of months when I could afford to fix the car I would not be able to afford to then book another 4 months of insurance cover to teach my son to drive. They were BRILLIANT! At best, I hoped that they would defer the insurance cover until the repairs had been made, but they went a step further and refunded me the full remainder of the insurance cover in order to free up funds to be able to repair the car. I then was able to reinstate the insurance cover, teach him to drive and have him pass his test! He was then about to reinsure the car using their student cover, but the pandemic hit and sadly he list his part time job and he has now had to sell the car without really having the chance to enjoy his potential independence as a qualified driver. The uncertainty about A levels/university places means we have held off on adding him to my car insurance instead, but are now going to look into taking up the student cover as things begin to gradually lift/reopen.
