Best car insurance by miles!

I’ve always been conscious of the miles I drive. Living in a city, I have access to public transport and local shops so only use my car for essential trips when I can’t use alternative methods like public transport. Lockdown has brought this into even sharper relief for me and I think shown others that it is possible to significantly reduce your mileage. It’s the shortest journeys that are actually the most damaging! With my pay-by-mile policy I'm actively rewarded for driving less. Seeing a total cost of 13 pence pop up on your screen when you’ve driven to the local shops makes you think twice about jumping in the car when you don’t need to. And a month where you have no charge for your insurance does the same. My last few statements have been less than a couple of pounds - and when I drove to the park the other day it was just 4.1 pence! I’m set to save between £200-£300 this year alone vs my old policy. As I get back to work post-lockdown, I want to minimise the amount of miles I’m doing by working remotely where possible and looking for opportunities to walk rather than drive. For every mile I reduce in my driving, it means I cause less pollution. By Miles worked for me when I was driving more, and now I’m driving less, it works even better.
