Meets all my needs

I was skeptical at first - would I cope with a branchless bank? Would I cope without a savings account? Well the second question was easy to answer, since for some time, I had practically been paying the bank to keep hold of my money for me, such are the interest rates these days. So I experimented by opening a Starling account and just adding £1000 to play with. I loved it more and more and after a few months decided to make the switch, transferring all my money from two other banks to Starling. Well, I say I transferred it, but I didn't - Starling did it all for me. Now I can pay in cheques by just taking a photo and I have access to all the cash machines if I need to take money out up to my daily limit. I've never needed much more than my daily limit in cash, but I assume I could withdraw a larger sum from the Post Office if I needed it. The best things of all for me are being able to open the app quickly and easily with my fingerprint and getting an alert every time I make a transaction. Also, the way that the app displays daily and monthly transactions, both by type and by merchant. It has made me realise that I am probably holding up UK's supermarkets singlehandedly! Quite embarrassing really! I have not missed not having a branch at all. To be fair, my home branch is 250 miles away in Wales, but I haven't missed access to any branch - but ah yes, that's another reason I love Starling... because Anne is from Wales! Pob nerth i'r Cymru!! : ) Reviewed on: 23rd January 2021
