Review of the Starling Bank, Current account:

Brilliant all round bank

A brilliant app based bank. It's great for travelling (back in the old days) with no fee's, MasterCard rates and much higher withdrawal limits than competitors. It has saved me hundreds just on daily transactions whilst abroad. And that was all I used to use my Starling account for, but since TSB started closing banks everywhere, I made Starling my full time current account. The switch was painless. And now I use it daily. I love that everything is available in-app. And using the 'round up' function, which will round up each spend you make to the next £1 and put that in a separate account. You can set this to just round it up 1x, or in multiples. So it's a nice way of saving loose change without realising. I currently have it set at 5x. Which means if I get a McCoffee for £1.19, £4.05 will get added to my 'Loose change' space that I have set up. Brilliant. It also has the ability in-app to lock or unlock Ur card and many other features that I don't really use. I did cover a few more perks on my trust pilot review. But all in all, I couldn't be happier. I just hope they don't ruin it in the future by adding fee's or selling to a huge corporate bank, who will just sabotage all the goodness Starling have done. Reviewed on: 23rd January 2021
