Simple and highly effective

I was wary about moving from traditional banking to app-based, but it has been a revelation. Starling's app is simple to use, responseive and keeps me right up to date with my finances, as well as offering features that go way beyond what I used to be able to enjoy, including saving spaces, flexible overdraft and contactless limits, card freezing. Their customer service has also been highly responsive, solving problems quickly and painlessly on the few occasions I have had to use it (most of which was not even their fault). Simple and Excellent

Having banked for nearly three decades with one of the smaller high street banks (not one of the big 5) I took the plunge in early 2020 and opened a Starling account for my personal spending, and it has been a revelation. So much simpler to keep everything in order, so much more immediate, without having to wait days to check the balance shown online is not still waiting for some payments to be accounted for, and a simple method for putting regular small amounts of money aside to save for specific purposes (already organised myself enough to buy a new bike). Cannot recommend their service, and app highly enough ... to the extent that it is only a matter of time before my main current account also moves over to Starling. Reviewed on: 25th January 2021
