TEACHING YOUR CHILD TO RESPECT MONEY

5
To be honest I thought this was going to be bad thing. I mean, giving my child the freedom to be able to buy whatever whenever, but I was eventually coaxed into it. All I can say is what a surprise I got. At first he saved to buy a phone, once that I certainly would have never bought him (after all I am quite a miser!) then it ended up that he was to receive the phone as a gift from a relative for his Birthday/Christmas, so that had taught him to save instead of spending. When it came to birthdays and Christmas etc., due to the current situation it meant that relatives could gift him money into the account easily, securely and safely. Buy mainly (and most shocking to me) was that when he wanted to buy things for himself he would always come and ask me for my input and if I thought it was a wise purchase. A few times we would search online and find better alternatives which cost less or where you got better versions of what he had wanted for equal or even less than the initial product cost. I thought it was going to be a learning curve for him, instead it was a learning curve for me. So thank you GoHenry for letting me trust my child with money in a very convenient and positive manner and thank you for letting me learn that I didn't have to teach my child to respect money and instead I got to learn from him to not buy the first thing I see but shop around and getter a better bargain for my buck! It was a real eye-opener. Reviewed on: 4th February 2021
