Fantastically easy way to teach children about money

My four children have each had Go Henry cards and they have been a fantastically easy way to teach them good attitudes towards money and saving. Instead of children begging for me to buy them toys, sweets, etc. when we visit the shops, I give them their Go Henry cards. That often stops the begging in its tracks - either they can afford to buy the treat, or they can’t, and they have quickly learned that they need to save their weekly allowance in order to buy a larger toy. They can track their own accounts on my phone and it has given them a really responsible attitude to spending. They never expect me to buy them anything any more! I have not yet got to grips with the money for chores aspect, but would like to look into that. Reviewed on: 12th February 2021
