I would rather pay a few quid to be with an honest bank. I have been with Triodos for many years, firstly for an ISA, and then for a current account when they started these in the UK. I love the way Triodos invests positively, not just the 'least words' funds as other 'ethical' banks do. I find the app very easy to use, and you can also invest in their ethical stocks and shares quite easily from there. I have only ever had excellent customer service e.g. when I lost my phone. Great (and ethical!) customer service

Triodos are a fantastic bank: They don’t let you go overdrawn. They charge just £3 a month - this is really fair, considering they’re not charging people for going overdrawn without arrangement (see above). They answer the phone quickly and sort out any problems fast and personably. I know that my money is somewhere I can trust, and that it’s being used positively and thoughtfully. This bank really stands out from the rest - it’s a totally different approach to banking and certainly deserves bank of the year, if not the century. Reviewed on: 24th January 2022

Ethical, responsive banking

Triodos are not only the only bank I know of that invests positively (rather than other 'ethical' banks investing 'not horrifically'), but also give a personal service - you are not likely to be stuck on the end of the phone for hours waiting for a human to speak to you!
