First Time Investor

The pandemic has given me time a cause to rethink my finances... in detail. I have completely overhauled my approach to budgeting and made a new plan for the cash I had saved up. I will not be purchasing a property in the near future. I have opened a SIPP and invested the rest in a Stocks & Shares ISA with Wealthify. I had zero knowledge about investing but was super keen to get involved as safely as possibly. I had a good look around at robo-investing and could see that whilst of course your capital is at risk that very simply I could transfer funds to Wealthify and access via the app or web, so I settled on Wealthify via Yolt. I would not have any of the responsibility of choosing or trading and I could see & learn about where & how my money was being invested. I was also aware that investing whilst the FTSE & DOW were low due to the pandemic that there was opportunity to be had - I grew more confident after my initial ISA transfer once I could see how it all worked, then I choose to open a SIPP. Would have been nice to have had all that confidence upfront as the growth on my early transfer is much stronger! However I love that I have now done something I am proud of with the money I have worked really hard to save. I have constant access, I like the way the Wealthify app interfaces, there is support on hand. For a first timer I can not fault it. Reviewed on: 25th February 2021
