Review of the Triodos Bank, Current account:

Ethical ... unless you're trans

I joined Triodos Bank to try and contribute less to unethical activities, and Triodos Bank is always the one which came out on top. It's commitment to the environment and local communities is always on show, however when I tried to change my name I found some issues. Unlike almost every other organisation, they need a deedpoll enrolled with the courts in order to change names, a very odd rule which I have never encountered with another bank or organisation. It's customer service in handling this was ok, but their limited power in affecting change within their organisation highlights that there is little communication within the organisation, and little desire to modernise in a fast changing world. To sum up, Triodos is one of the best banks around, but this is due to the poor ethical standards of other banks, but its lack of accessibility for trans customers means I have lost all faith in the organisation evolving and adapting to the world in years to come.
