Cash like management in a cashless society

I have been banking primarily with Starling since 2018. The ambiguity and cumbersome way of banking with TSB was instantly obvious when I set up and started using Starling I never looked back. I feel that the Spaces feature is particularly helpful as it mimics the dividing your cash into piles for various outgoings, food, fuel etc. Sending and requesting money is super easy. My favourite feature is DD from a particular space. The ease of being able to stop a payment going out without cancellation of DD by simply not making available money from said space. It automatically calculates your total, set up an auto transfer on your pay day, easy peasy. The ability to see money going out with a day ahead is particularly helpful as companies who deduct your bills never or rarely deduct money on exact date they said they would. This is helpful for people who don’t have much left after paying everything. Another feature I like is instant readout of how much money I have left, if it’s a pending transaction it gets deducted from available money so if I don’t pay attention how much I spend I am just going to check out the balance, it’s instant, clear and no ambiguity like with TSB where you never know what’s pending and what’s gone out. With the ease of contactless payments it’s easy to forget and track how much money is there left in your card. I have gone over the overdraft because of this in the past with TSB, TSB shamelessly charging me for “not paying attention “ Reviewed on: 31st March 2023

I dropped TSB as my bank after 1 month of Starling use

I was sceptical and frankly scared of anyone apart from main well established banks holding my money. I downloaded the app, explored the features, everything I was frustrated by with regards to ease of banking and especially customer care from TSB, we’re solved by starling.
