Review of the Freetrade, Online share dealing:

Freetrade. All good, with one minor improvement needed.

I wanted to try share dealing and tried Freetrade. The main thing for me was ease of use, whether buying or selling shares it was so easy. Its quick to set the deal and the transactions appear quickly. Recently I wanted to open a stocks and shares ISA, which was easy. The only thing I couldn't work out was how to transfer funds from my ordinary account to the ISA account, so I sent a message and I got a reply quickly. The only thing In relation to that is, it would be easier to have a 'transfer' button on the ordinary share dealing screen and one on the ISA screen. Reviewed on: 8th February 2026

Opening accounts-straightforward....being ID'd not so.

Opening accounts are very straightforward and quick. Their interest rates are right up there at the top and is the main reason I bank with them. My only gripe is, when I transferred an ISA account I held elsewhere into ZOPA, I didn't know how much of my annual limit I had left. I went onto their CHAT facility, where they proceeded to ask me ID questions. I don't have to do this with my other Banks, which seems appropriate, as I've been technically ID'd by using my log in details to access the app. The questions they asked me were a little ridiculous. They wanted to know when I'd opened my account. Like most people, over time, they are not going to remember this. I Hazarded a guess between certain months of a year and was told I'd failed. Later on after looking up when I had opened the account I discovered I was correct with my answer. So I suppose unless you get it spot on,youve got no chance. Oh well. Good, clear & efficient service

My young daughter made an on line payment to a scam company. I rang the Nat West fraud team who dealt with it efficiently, explaining the steps taken and refunding the lost money immediately. Can't ask for anything more. Reviewed on: 9th March 2023

Cheap and easy

Was easily the cheapest quote and the application was simple and reasonably quick.Held 1 star back, as not had a claim so don't know what their service is like. Reviewed on: 17th September 2022

Best rates.Simple set up.

Looked everywhere for decent interest savings rate. This one came out no '1. Easy to set up the account. Communications really good too. What's not to like. Reviewed on: 10th March 2021
