Investing in an Ethical, More Sustainable and Fairer Future Couldn't be Easier With The Ecology Building Society.

Opened a Regular Saving Account with Ecology Building Society in order to conveniently invest in a better future for people and planet. Have enjoyed a reasonable rate of interest over the past couple of years. Perhaps not the highest savings rate but there are normally others "costs" to society investing elsewhere; for instance, lending to businesses involved in damaging the planet or avoidance of paying tax in the UK, which robs us of the opportunity to adequately fund our public services. The account was easy to open and the contact I had with the office in Keighley was courteous and efficient. It has also been easy to alter my monthly payments according to my income and expenditure. Also, the salaries of the Directors and Executives do not seem excessive, especially when compared to the eye-watering rates of remuneration in many of these nationwide building societies - in my opinion, these excessive salaries fly in face of the ideology of mutuality and the building society movement.
