Customer service that goes above and beyond.

My experience with Lloyds bank had been a pleasant one from the day that I joined. I walked into the bank one Wednesday afternoon wanting to open an account with them there and then and I walked out 20 minutes later having done just that. I could easily tell from then on, my bank experience was going to be hassle free, I hadn't eve made an appointment yet (the cheek of me) all the staff were wonderfully gracious and took the time to explain everything in explicit detail. However this isn't the incident that made me love my bank with such a strange passion. I'd gone on holiday to Switzerland for 3 days and I'd obviously let my bank know that I would be travelling so that they wouldn't become suspicious of my overseas account activity. I thought I was being so cautious and intelligent but lo and behold I lost my wallet 4 hours after arriving in Geneva like the idiot that I am. Of course panic ensued, I'd been intending on just using my card to pay for things so I'd only taken out a measly amount in cash just in case. I went to the police station but no one had handed anything in yet, I was so fortunate that I was there with friends who'd been smart enough to bring lots of extra money. I ended up calling tweeting Lloyds bank, because my phone decided to stop working in my time of need, and told them what happened in hopes that something could be done. This is when that customer service satisfaction kicked in, a Lloyds employee called the hotel I was staying at and worked with me for almost an hour corresponding to find my account number, to cancel my card and went on the to call the police station in Geneva continuously for me to check whether the card had been found. this partcular employee (named Claire if I remember correctly) went to new heights that she didn't even have to in order to help me, she even found a way for me to transfer all my money into a new account and also into my friends account so that I wasn't stranded in a different country with no money. Furthermore, by the time I came home, a day and a half later, there was a brand new sparkly card in my mailbox!
