Beats the rivals

Pre pandemic my partner and I visited another big name high Street bank to enquire about a savings account for my daughter. We were met with a distinctly uninterested member of staff who suggested Metro Bank as they were open for another hour and the bank we were standing in was due to close. Off we went to Metro Bank. The young savers account is fantastic. It enables my 3 year old to pay in her coins via the Magic Money Machine, a process that she loves, and she also receives a small gift each month too. Its a really great tool to reward her for saving money. She frequently asks when we can visit her "bank account". The staff are always lovely and from a parents perspective, I find the app and paying in process easy and enjoyable. Its made banking more fun for us a family and I've opened another account for my newest arrival and switched to a Metro Current account myself, all off the back of opening the young saver for my daughter. Whilst other high Street banks are busy ramming digital apps down our throats, its great to bank with Metro, who feel more human. Reviewed on: 24th March 2021
