modern convenient banking with continuous improvement

Have banked with Starling for a two years, and find them so much more up-to-date and convenient than my traditional bank account. App and online services are intuitive and smart, they continually improve and innovate, and I find my linked Euro denominated current account absolutely brilliant for my purposes. Rated them down one start because of minor limitations - can't use the card at my local petrol station (embarrassing when I didn't know and tried), and also no override to enable transfers or payments above their transaction limits. My German Postbank online account lets me change the preset transaction size limits so I can make a 1m Euros payment electronically. My UK bank doesn't let me do this electronically, but forces me to make a written request. From Starling I was forced to make a series of daily payments over a couple of weeks (which they told me was a limitation of their banking licence). Setting aside those minor issues which won't bother most people Starling is the best thing since sliced bread. Reviewed on: 17th April 2021
