Over a number of years I found myself in a spiral of debt, mainly due to my husband losing a well paid job due to redundancy. I took out loans and credit cards to cover everyday living costs not luxuries amassing an overall debt of approximately 22 thousand pounds. After many sleepless nights I contacted Stepchange who did not judge my situation. They were so helpful in helping me to be realistic with the income I had in order to repay my creditors and still be able to pay my priority bills. They helped contact my creditors with repayment proposals which everyone agreed to, much to my surprise. Interest was stopped being added to my accounts enabling me to reduce the amount of debt quicker. I would recommend Stepchange to anyone seeking help with debts. They make you feel like there’s someone there to help when being in debt is a lonely place to be.
