Took the Fear Away...

Yes that's what Stepchange did for me! I had incurred credit card debt, yes, like a lot of people, but when my DLA was changed to PIP and I lost the whole lot I could not pay my minimum amounts due each month. I remain disabled enough to have a Blue Badge by the way but the government disagrees! Anyway after asking my High Street Bank for a debt consolidation loan (and being refused that also...) I tried Stepchange in desperation. I could see no way out until Stepchange arranged a schedule of repayments for my creditors which I could afford. It has been running for 2 and 1/2 years now and I can manage to increase the payments each review (12 monthly) which reduces the time I will be in debt. I am aware that my credit is shot for 6 years, but honestly do I want any more credit? NO! Thank you Stepchange for allowing me to sleep at night, unlike the High Street Bank who were no help to me whatsoever..... Reviewed on: 23rd July 2021
