I don't know where I would be without PayPlan

I found myself in a situation, after a divorce and looking after two children as a single parent, in a position of having a credit score of 999 and just about managing to keep my head above water. When they both went to university, at the same time, I lost all benefits, i.e., child tax credits and child benefit. My income was under £20k and no financial support from my ex. This, I knew, was going to make life more difficult and then I was made redundant. I took on agency work until I found a permanent job which entailed travel and fuel expenses but was a job opportunity not to miss and has now enabled me to increase my income . However, my credit line had by now maxed out and interest growing and ot got to the point I was only covering the interest in my repayments. I knew I was in trouble making the repayments; I was juggling. I had previously tried talking to my mortgage provider, to no avail. I knew I had no where to go and I was talking to debt recovery people and Citizens Advice and found there was no empathy for the circumstances that led me to my situation and they were unable to help other than suggesting writing out a list of my debts into a template. I am more than capable of doing this myself. They were not offering me a solution I needed. I found PayPlan who have given me a life line. I knew I had to take the bull by the horns and accept the position where my credit score would drop considerably and no access to credit at all. It just had to be done. PayPlan provided the solution I needed. They talked to my creditors and an arrangement is in place to repay them with no interest. I work for a public body and am not able to undertake an alternative of writing off the debt at this stage. I have found Payplan very supportive and easy to communicate with. I have an annual review of where I am with my creditors and an offer of alternative solutions. I was so low and depressed when I sought their help. PayPlan have enabled me to lift the enormous pressure I was under and although things are very tight, life is better. I am more comftable in my work life, personal life and thankful for PayPlan being there. I had no one or anything else to turn to. Professional, empathetic, efficient and person centered. I have found PayPlan to be very supportive whilst going through difficult circumstances. Everyone I have been in contact with have been friendly and helpful with a positive attitude to assist as needed. Payplan always send reminders as prompts and follow-ups to ensure deadlines are met. They have assisted when there have been issues; there is always an alternative method to achieve outcomes. I am assessed on an annual basis to ensure that the plan I am on is the right on plan. When I have felt low I found staff to be caring and reassuring. Without PayPlan I don't know how I would be where I am today and expect to be. Thank you PayPlan Reviewed on: 10th August 2021
