Living again

I was a single parent during my children’s years living at home. Things were financially very tight but we managed. When my children left home and went to university my life became very empty. I had a job but started to spend more money than I was earning ...on things that I could never afford as a single parent ...holidays ,clothes , makeup hairdos etc. These things sort of filled the gap of my children moving on in life. One day I realised that I was owing £7000 on my credit card, how would I possibly pay that off??? So I got a bank loan to pay the credit card off....then another credit card. It was so easy and before I knew it my life was out of control. I was working all hours just to pay my bills and debts, I seriously considered suicide.....how could I ever get out of this mess. I went onto a debt management plan with a company that I had to pay £500 for help.......from here things just got worse ....without going into too much detail this company was not legitimate and my debt fell into massive arrears. I now owed £33000 with all the interest added. That was it I felt my life was over ,what could I possibly do. I went to see a debt councillor that was recommended to me . It was a free service to help people like myself. Since that day I got my life back, the lady I saw had everything sorted within a few days . She made me a telephone appointment with Payplan at a time and a day . I was on the phone for hours the person I spoke to made me feel comfortable and I was able to disclose to her all the trouble that I was in without judgement. Immediately after my call with Payplan I started to get my life back together. Payplan literally saved my life in more ways than one. I wish I could remember individual names of the people from Payplan that have assisted me. I have helped other people in a similar position to myself by recommending Payplan.
