Easy to set up and straightforward to manage online

An account that charges £1 per month and pays back a little more depending on the number of direct debits you set up. The account was easy to set up at my local branch although the appointment for this took a week. Online banking is straightforward. Reviewed on: 12th September 2017

Reliable and decent but they penalise loyalty

No problems - this seems to be a reliable and decent company - but a couple of issues that are common in the insurance business. First, after buying their home insurance policy for 2 years and making no claims they hiked the renewal premium up by over 20%. Not entirely surprising but annoying. Second, despite being an online service they offer no obvious provision for cancelling an unwanted renewal online; you have to then phone them up. On a positive note, they answered quickly and it was a UK call centre. Reviewed on: 31st August 2017

Efficient website... fair price... includes free basic home emergency cover

My only reservation would be that I have only just taken out this policy and have had no reason to contact Policy Expert other than the original purchase. The Policy Expert website worked well, the price was fair and the policy had features that others lacked e.g. basic home emergency cover for no extra cost. The e-documents were provided almost immediately. Reviewed on: 31st August 2017
