Helping others is a gain

One of the blights on financial services is the requirement to 'maximise shareholder value', which rapidly degenerates into profiteering and asset-stripping which has had a detrimental effect on public life and has increased poverty. Ethical investing benefits many people rather than a few and those of us who invest ethically are content with a small return over time, which, at least maintains the purchasing value of our investment taking inflation into account.
