Triodos is creating an economy that does not cost the Earth

Triodos has boldly upped its game during the pandemic, as the slowing down of our routines allowed many of us to reevaluate the importance of wellbeing. The word economy derives from the Latin ‘Ecos’ which actually means ‘home’ rather than money. On a home planet made up of finite resources we cannot survive if financial institutions continue to invest in the toxic practices, such as drilling for oil and gas, that they have been for decades - destroying the basic elements on which the entire living ecosystem (of which Homo sapiens are a part) depends. Triodos is leading the way and carving an ethical path through the economy for us to weave into our working lives. Although the high demand they have experienced recently has lead to slow responses at times (maybe we do need to slow down anyway!) and the app still needs a bit of improvement, I can see huge development as a customer and I am happy to support this inspirational bank as they bloom and provide a secure and service-lead offering in 2022 and beyond. The hidden workings of unethical and unjust banking institutions are becoming visible and these old ways must die if life is to remain on this epic planet. Reviewed on: 16th January 2022
