Inflexible and doesn't value existing customers

I received my insurance renewal quote and asked whether I could either extend my insurance on a monthly basis or take out a short term insurance as I'm planning to do Airbnb in a couple of months. Apparently this is not possible and my insurance will be cancelled. I had home insurance with RIAS for years and never made a claim. Had I let it auto-renew, I could have cancelled it when the Airbnb is set up, but because I was honest and spoke to them first, I now have to reinsure my property with another provider for two months. Insurers ask customers to be honest, but it's often to our detriment. Reviewed on: 16th May 2022
