Benefits, debt and Stepchange

I was under crushing debts. They didn’t amount to more than £5000. But being on benefits is difficult to manage as is. When you add in debt, it can become distressing. My mental health was awful and I wasn’t sure how I would handle it. Stepchange were there to help with ever They calculated the debt and got in touch with all my debtors. We worked out an affordable plan and solution. All I had to do was guarantee that the money was in the account. There are regular reviews so if your financial situation changes you can change what you pay. Reviewed on: 23rd May 2025

Saved My Mental Health

My mental illness caused me a lot of problems with my finances. Step Change were brilliant at breaking the points down and explaining how and what could be done to become financially secure and stable again. They have been there during the difficult times and always offered advice when needed. Plus I have not had a single bad experience with the people and staff I speak to. They are always patient.
