Oh the irony!

1
Okay, so this is my third posting on this topic in three days! Just had to post this…my husband and I have both been declined for our JL cards, even though we have adequate income, 999 Experian credit rating etc…our daughter, earning LESS than us at 24 years old and having had her card for only 1 year has been accepted! She does as we do, pays the balance in full each month, using her card as payment insurance for internet purchases. As per the previous reviewer, there’s the proof…it’s all part of a bigger plan…long time loyal customers count for nowt, it’s all about generating interest and not allowing the customer to capitalise on the payment window..fact! Husband now also declined

1
I have already posted here for myself after I was declined JL credit card. My husband, the higher earner in our family, got his code letter yesterday and has now also been declined by New Day. We’ve spent thousands in JL stores over the years..we are supported by wages, pensions and interest from savings..what more do they want!! Who are they granting the card to for goodness sake? I’m thinking we are just too good at paying off our credit cards, we aren’t the kind of clientele they want, we make them no money!!! Brutal! Surely this should be causing JL some concern, if it’s not, this company has changed beyond measure, what a shame! Keep posting everybody, they have media people that might sit up and take notice! Disappointing

1
I too have been declined a ‘ New Day’ credit card with JL and I’m pretty annoyed about it! I have a small pension and savings, I have an exemplary credit rating and have always paid my partnership card on time, for 15 odd years! What on earth is going on? My experience has been much the same as the other reviewers..I rung New Day for an explanation, no joy there but was on hold for 15 mins, probably due to other loyal JL customers kicking off too! I now don’t want a credit card through JL, I will take my money elsewhere. Us retirees, contrary to belief, are often the group that have the most disposable income so I consider this move pretty shortsighted! I’m just glad I found this platform to comment as I realise I’m not the only unjustified reject! Thanks for rewarding me for my loyalty JL and goodbye! Reviewed on: 2nd September 2022
