No passion for my custom and reluctant to deal with the issue

So I have been asked to review Santander after the experience I have had and to help you guys out so I will give you as much information I can without trying to boar you in the process. SO… It started about 2 weeks ago when myself and my partner decided to get a joint account, we looked at our current situation and liked the look of the 123 account with a £1,500 overdraft with Santander. Now we purchased our house 4 years ago and have a mortgage with them so thought it be a good idea to keep everything together. We went to the Stratford Upon Avon site and applied. REFERED – Now I get paid by 3rd party transfer from my work and sometimes this does not register as an income on certain service computers so we had no issue in waiting for an answer as I have had to wait when it came to buying my house and my car. HOWEVER they came back to me and said it was declined. EXPLINATION – There was none, now I understand data protection so I asked for a letter that still to the day has not made it. I printed both mine and my partners Experian Credit scores both of which were 999 out of 999 (true, I could post a picture if not believed) for them to look at and even the member of staff in the bank was lost for words as to why if we had our mortgage with them AND had great credit scores why this has happened. SO WHAT NOW – Well the customer service team eventually told me we did not pass the pre-checks but my credit file was still searched regardless of them doing their own pre-checks… this means that even if you fail the checks before they look at your credit file, they will still look at your credit file and make a mark on your name that NEGATIVLY effects your chances for future lending EVEN if you have great credit. They also told me they DO NOT have to divulge the processes they take to come to their decision. SUMMERY – So if you have great credit, have a mortgage and pay regularly to these big bankers you still may not get anywhere with Santander. They still 2 weeks on have not got back to me with an answer as to why I was rejected an account. MY ADIVCE – GO SOMEWHERE ELSE. We walked into a Lloyds in Stratford Upon Avon and what a totally different experience. We were armed to the teeth with passports, credit files, bank statements and pay slips to show how well we control our money etc. the guy took us to his office and went through the account we wanted didn’t try and sell us something we didn’t want and processed everything via his computer. The checks went through fine and the account was open within ten mins. No proof needed as we were electronically ID’d (whatever that means) and we were on our way. WE ARE DUE TO MOVE OUR MORTGAGE OVER IN 6 MONTHS ASWELL Reviewed on: 27th June 2016
