A really fair way to pay for car insurance

I really like the way I only pay for the miles I actually travel, rather than paying a flat rate irrespective of how much I use the car. I now try to reduce costs (for both fuel and insurance) by planning my car journeys and saving them up wherever possible so that, rather than making several "there and back" journeys, I save them up and do a "round trip". I was very impressed with the courtesy and patient explanation I received when discussing new insurance terms following changing my car.
