Don't be fair.

4
The only time l wanted to claim after being with golf care for over 10 years was when a carry bag strap gave out, the bag tipped up and my driver shaft fractured.Trying to be absolutely fair l bought a second hand shaft off eBay for £50, but didn't claim for the carry bag as it was a few years old. I expected to just be reimbursed for the driver shaft, but was told we don't owe you nothing as there is a £50 excess charge per claim. I was disappointed because l could have bought a brand new driver shaft for £90 and claimed £130 for a new carry bag. That would have been a £220 total claim, less £50 excess totalling £170.. A good deed never goes unpunished! Trying to be totally fair did not do me any favours, a lesson learned. This critique will probably exclude me from winning any prize draw, hey ho. Been with them several years, you never know who or what a stray ball may injure.

Only wanted to claim once when a carry bag strap snapped and the bag tipped up and fractured my driver shaft. Contacted to make a claim (l found a replacement shaft on ebay for £50) I didn't want to claim for the carry bag because it was 3 years old, so l said l would only claim for the driver shaft. A brand new driver shaft would have been about £150, but l only wanted to be reimbursed for the £50 ebay used one. All seemed to be going ok with the claim and it was approved, then l was told the excess fee was £50 so they owed me nothing. Moral of this tale is, do not try and be fair as you will get punished for it. If you make a claim load everything you can think of onto it so that you don't get bent over like l did. PS, l lost some equipment on the golf course a year or so before, but didn't go to the trouble of claiming, wish l had now. Reviewed on: 21st September 2022
