Someone drove into the back of my car earlier this year and Direct Line has been great helping me sort everything out, making sure I had an appropriate hire car (the first one I was offered was a smart car and I had to try and get a toddler in the back! They immediately upgraded me to a more suitable car).

Very good value life insurance. It's not much going out of the bank every month and it gives peace of mind if the worst should happen

American Express is a really good company. Someone cloned my credit card last year and they were fantastic in getting it all sorted and getting my money back. I had a new card within 48 hours, and it was over Christmas so that was pretty incredible. I'm not actually sure how you get the cashback out of your account though - I can see what I've earned but I have no idea how to actually get it!

Halifax have served us well as a bank. The internet banking is very occasionally down for maintenance, but generally very good. My main complaint is that the monthly bonus has dropped from £5 to £2 which isn't very good.

Direct Line is a good insurer. My only reservation is that their prices are high, and haggling is required to get a good deal - I certainly wouldn't auto renew.
