Threats to close the account so I have to spend 2 hours on the phone twice!!!

Had to provide some 'more information' about my company (we have banked with barclays for over 50 years) and are instructed to reply within 10 days or the account gets closed. I understand that we have to comply with the latest money laundering regulations but this service is absolutely utterly shocking - well its not a service really. After a barrage of text messages, emails, and app messages asking me to contact them - getting cut off, and further waiting - after 2 hours on the phone with some godawful music its difficult to remain objective. I realise the phone operator has no control over the ridiculous waiting times but really? After closing most of our high street banks this is what we are left with - hours of complete boredom on the phone, because obviously, I've got nothing else better to do. I would recommend any business to take their business elsewhere. Reviewed on: 7th February 2023
